I was able to work on this piece for Publication Development course at University of Wisconsin-Whitewater in the Professional Writing and Publishing program.
The initial version of this piece was very text-heavy, uninteractive, and lacked all visual attraction. I added interactive links, lessened the number of text blocks, removed redundancies, and formatted as PDF for online usability.
Analysis Methodology
I began by conducting a thorough Audience analysis:

Next, I performed a Content Audit of each component of the original work and assess the alignment with audience needs, placement, and redundancies.

Analysis took 8 hours.
Layout
I used my analysis to combine, cut, and update text content within the Guide. After updating text, I began formatting the document with University colors, images, and visuals. I used an image of the College of Letters and Sciences building for the cover and other images used in the departement promotion. The layout took a full 30 hours.
Completion
To complete the document, I added in text blocks and perfected any formatting issues. The final stage took 10 hours.
Total time spent: 48 hours.
The finished product is pictured above.
